# Check LiteSpeed Cache is working on your WordPress site

Every Starter, Simple and Business plan runs LiteSpeed Web Server with LSCache on NVMe SSD storage. LSCache stores ready pages on the server, so PHP does less work on each visit to a dynamic WordPress page. On WordPress, the free LiteSpeed Cache plugin connects your site to the server cache, so you do not need to stack conflicting cache plugins.

## Before you change cache settings

A staging site is a separate copy of your site where you can test an update, a new plugin or extension, or a redesign. See [Create a staging site](/knowledgebase/create-a-staging-site/).

## If your WordPress site uses the LiteSpeed Cache plugin

LSCache works at the server level, with the matching plugin for WordPress. You manage the plugin from your WordPress dashboard, not from your hosting control panel.

1. Sign in to your WordPress dashboard.
2. Go to **Plugins**, then **Installed Plugins**.
3. Find **LiteSpeed Cache** in the list. If it shows **Activate**, select it.
4. When the plugin is active, a **LiteSpeed Cache** menu appears in the left sidebar of your dashboard. Open it to see the plugin settings.

Not in the list? In your WordPress dashboard, go to **Plugins**, then **Add New Plugin**, search for "LiteSpeed Cache", then select **Install Now** and **Activate**. Want help? Open a ticket from [Get Help](/knowledgebase/get-help/) and our support team will check it with you.

## Check that LiteSpeed and LSCache are working

1. Open your site in Chrome, press F12 and choose the **Network** tab.
2. Reload the page and click the first request.
3. In **Response Headers**, look for `server: LiteSpeed`.
4. Look for `x-litespeed-cache: hit`. A `miss` on the first visit is normal. Reload and it should show `hit`.

## No hit?
