# Pay an invoice and keep a card on file

Hosting and domains renew from the invoices in your Get Simple account. A card on file pays those invoices when they come due so the site does not stop.

### Pay an open invoice

1. Sign in at https://billing.getsimple.net
2. Open **Invoices**
3. Select the unpaid invoice
4. Choose **Pay**
5. Use a card on file, or enter a new card
6. Confirm the payment

A paid invoice shows as Paid. Save or print the invoice page if you need a receipt.

### Keep a card on file

1. Sign in at https://billing.getsimple.net
2. Open **Payment Accounts**
3. Add a card
4. Make it the default if you want future invoices to use it

Turn on automatic payment in account settings if you want due invoices charged to that card.

A domain transfer or renewal is only started after the invoice is Paid. Do not wait until the expiry day.
