What LiteSpeed hosting means for your site

LiteSpeed Web Server replaces Apache on our plans. Its built-in cache, LSCache, stores ready pages on the server, so PHP does less work on each visit to a dynamic WordPress or Joomla page.

Every plan shown on this site pairs LiteSpeed with NVMe SSD storage and hosts one site.

LiteSpeed vs Apache for hosting buyers

You do not need a sysadmin lecture to choose hosting. You need to know what changes for your WordPress or Joomla site.

Apache (common on traditional shared hosting)

Many hosts still center on Apache. It is familiar and fine for light sites. On Apache, page caching for WordPress and Joomla usually comes from plugins.

LiteSpeed (what we run)

LiteSpeed Web Server pairs with LSCache, a server-level cache. On WordPress and Joomla, LSCache works with the matching plugin or extension to serve cached pages, so you do not need to stack conflicting cache plugins.

Practical buyer takeaway

  • Dynamic pages served from cache when cache is configured correctly
  • The same LiteSpeed and LSCache setup on Starter, Simple and Business

LiteSpeed on WordPress and Joomla plans

You do not need a special LiteSpeed plan to get this setup. LiteSpeed with LSCache is part of every Starter, Simple and Business plan.

  • WordPress Hosting: managed WordPress on the LiteSpeed stack
  • Joomla Hosting: Joomla plans with LiteSpeed and LSCache for Joomla
  • This page: the same LiteSpeed and LSCache setup, for when you shop by server technology

Container isolation on LiteSpeed plans

Classic shared hosting puts many sites on one environment where a noisy neighbor can steal CPU and make your site feel random. You still want fewer surprises when visitor traffic and CMS admin work spike at the same time.

Each site runs in an isolated hosting environment, for less noisy-neighbor risk from other accounts.

What you get in practice

  • Your site runs in an isolated environment rather than a pure free-for-all shared pool.
  • Resources are protected so another customer’s spike is less likely to flatten your pages.
  • Security posture includes free SSL, and Off-server backups are included on one schedule, at least 48 hours apart, and are kept for 30 days.

Staging before you go live

Staging copies: Starter 1, Simple 2, Business 3.

Updating WordPress or Joomla on your live site can break things. Staging lets you test the update on a copy first. Starter, Simple and Business all include staging, plus a clone when you need a full copy.

How it works on your hosting panel

  1. Open your hosting panel for the site.
  2. Create a staging copy of the site (or clone a site when you need a full copy).
  3. Test updates there: run the update, plugin or extension change, or redesign on staging and check the front end and admin.
  4. Apply the same change on production when you are satisfied.

Use staging for major version updates, PHP version changes, and anything that touches checkout, memberships or multilingual content.

LSCache for WordPress and Joomla

Every Starter, Simple and Business plan runs LiteSpeed Web Server with LSCache on NVMe SSD storage.

What LSCache means on each CMS

  • WordPress: server-level LSCache with the matching WordPress plugin on WordPress Hosting. The free LiteSpeed Cache plugin connects your site to the server cache.
  • Joomla: server-level LSCache with the matching Joomla extension path on our Joomla hosting plans. They include Joomla-aware support and staging.
  • This page: for buyers who choose a host by its server technology. Pick Starter, Simple or Business by the storage and resources your one site needs. LiteSpeed and LSCache come with each plan.

LSCache works at the server level, with the matching plugin or extension for your CMS.

How to check LiteSpeed and LSCache are working

  1. Open your site in Chrome, press F12 and choose the Network tab.
  2. Reload the page and click the first request.
  3. In Response Headers, look for server: LiteSpeed.
  4. Look for x-litespeed-cache: hit. A miss on the first visit is normal. Reload and it should show hit.

No hit? Our 24/7/365 support team will check your LiteSpeed Cache plugin or Joomla extension settings with you.

LiteSpeed hosting FAQ

What is LiteSpeed hosting?
LiteSpeed hosting runs your site on LiteSpeed Web Server instead of Apache, with server-level caching (LSCache) for dynamic pages.
What is LSCache?
LSCache is the LiteSpeed caching layer. On WordPress and Joomla it works with the matching cache plugin/extension to serve cached pages.
Is LiteSpeed included on WordPress and Joomla plans?
Yes. See WordPress Hosting and Joomla Hosting. Both use LiteSpeed with LSCache on our stack.
Do I need a special plan for LiteSpeed?
No. LiteSpeed with LSCache is part of our hosting stack on Starter, Simple, and Business. Pick the plan that matches storage and resources for that one site.
What plans are available?
Starter $10/mo, Simple $20 to $35/mo, and Business $49 to $135/mo. Each plan is one site. See Hosting plans: Starter, Simple, and Business.
What do I get on each plan?
Starter: 10 GB disk, 1 GB RAM, 0.5 vCPU, 1 staging copy, 1 TB fair-use bandwidth. Simple: 25 GB, 2 GB RAM, 1 vCPU, 2 staging copies, 3 TB. Business: 50 GB, 4 GB RAM, 2 vCPU, 3 staging copies, 8 TB fair-use. Addon domains are not included (0).
Is the renewal price higher?
No. The price on the plan is the renewal price. There is no introductory price.
Is email included with hosting?
Starter: no email. Bring your own. Simple includes 2 mailboxes, 5 GB each; upgrades to 5 or 10. Business includes 5 mailboxes, 5 GB each, with options up to 25 mailboxes at 10 GB each. A full mailbox is a mail upgrade, not a site-disk problem.
Can you migrate my site to LiteSpeed hosting?
Yes. We move your site for you at no extra cost, on a best-effort basis.
LiteSpeed vs Apache: which should I pick?
If you run WordPress or Joomla, choose hosting that runs LiteSpeed with server-level caching (LSCache), which works with the matching cache plugin or extension. Our plans include LiteSpeed on the stack shown on this page; see WordPress Hosting and Joomla Hosting for CMS-specific plans.
Do LiteSpeed plans use container isolation?
Yes. Starter, Simple, and Business use container isolation so your site is less affected by noisy neighbors than classic shared hosting. See Shared Hosting for more on container isolation.
Do LiteSpeed plans include staging?
Yes. Staging (and clone when you need a full copy) is available from your hosting panel on Starter, Simple, and Business so you can test changes before production. For Joomla, see the staging section on Joomla Hosting.
Is this OpenLiteSpeed or LiteSpeed Enterprise?
We run LiteSpeed Web Server with LSCache on the plans shown. For license-line product names, ask support.
What control panel do you use?
A modern hosting panel (not cPanel). Manage sites, staging, and PHP from there.
Do I need a paid caching plugin with LiteSpeed hosting?
No. The free LiteSpeed Cache plugin for WordPress and the free LiteSpeed extension for Joomla connect to the server cache.
How can I tell if my site is served by LiteSpeed?
Check the response headers in your browser’s developer tools. You should see server: LiteSpeed, and x-litespeed-cache: hit on cached pages.
